If ever a fly was tied to catch trout this is the one! The results speak for themselves. The Lakeland Ice Stretch Biot Buzzer deserves a place in your fly box. At Lakeland we believe that fishing patterns should be kept nice and simple and it won’t get much simpler than this. Care should be taken when tying in the Ice Stretch, the slimmer and smoother the under body the better the fly will look. On size 10 and 12 use medium Ice Stretch and on 14 and smaller use small Ice Stretch, the HOT COLOURS are Black, Olive Tan, Chartreuse, Root Beer. On the first night out with this pattern Nigel hooked 15 Trout in about 2 1/2 hours, not bad going! The interesting thing was the way in which the fish selected the different biot colours. On the first cast Nigel used the black buzzer with sunburst biots and the point fly had hot orange biots, it soon became obvious that the fish were not interested in the hot orange, so a quick change to fl.orange and both flies started to take fish, over the next few weeks Nigel is going to try other combinations so watch this space. The breathers are made from white artic fox body fur, it looks right for breathers when clipped short.
