The Lakeland Beetle is tied the way a fishing fly should be tied, we have found there is no need for legs or hackles just a basic shape that fishes in the surface film. We have been fishing Beetles like this for years on the northern waters for brown trout and rainbows. This pattern is so quick and easy to tie but it is absolutely deadly and will pull fish on the brightest of days. Fish on a floating line and cast it across the wind and let the waves do the work as it bobs around in the surface.
