Whiting Bronze Grade Genetic Dry Fly Rooster Capes, with over 50 years of breeding Whiting Farms are producing the World’s finest genetic dry fly hackles. Whiting Farms use an Olympic medal system to grade their capes and saddles with all grades offering the finest dry fly hackles available!! Basically  higher the grade, the bigger the pelt, with longer hackles and a greater  range of small sizes like 16/18 and a greater density of hackles per a cape or saddle.

So what can I expect from my Whiting Bronze Grade Genetic Dry Fly Rooster Cape,

. A large pelt with a good density of hackles.

.Hackles will have a very fine quill for ease of use.

. Capes will tie approx. size 10 to 18 with some going smaller.

. The average hackle will tie 2-3 flies using the sweet spot.

.Bronze Grade Capes will have greater density and hackle length than a Pro.Grade

.Each Cape will produce around 5-6 hackle sizes 18/16/14/12/10/8 approx.

.Available in FULL or HALF Capes.

Uses:- All types of Dry Flies and hackles styles, emergers and palmered flies.

    Whiting capes and saddles have maintained a standard of excellence over the years and I dont bother with any other brands. I still have Hoffman capes, full, half and one quarter size bought from Lakeland back in the days when the Fly Fair was held in a tent at Trentham Gardens.

    What beautiful hackles. A joy to tie flies with probably the most consistently good product from Whiting Hackles via Lakeland fly tying. Thank goodness someone is there to regularly supply the Whiting range and, I suspect, the cream of the Whiting stable.

    Perfect for bodies on palmer style wet flies. Good length and no need for fiddly hackle pliers. Not tried on dry flies yet but I would imagine theyll be perfect for dries as well. Much better than the traditional Indian cock hackles Ive normally used.
