Excellent purchase for the amateur fly tyer when you don’t want to spend mega bucks on a top quality cape which will probably last 20 years of fly tying. The quality is excellent producing much higher quality flies than I ever thought I could tie and I now fully appreciate the added pleasure of tying with top quality materials .

Usually good service and good product. However, I am not impressed with last two packs. Some of the feathers in these packs do not lay flat, i.e. if you laid the feather on a table the fibers do not also lay flat they are either wrapped around the quills or are bent or form a V. This makes it more difficult to use them.

Whiting Farms do their best to breed out the curving of the fibres through the selective breeding but it is natural for the hackles to have a slight curve to the fibres, every hackle as a top side and a under side but with gentle manipulation you should be able to stroke the fibres back when tying your fly. These hackles are the bees knees at a great price. Theres enough here for me for a couple of seasons. Will be buying more in different colours. Ideal for the person, like me, who doesnt tie a huge amount of flies.

Excellent quality, with the opportunity of tying lots of flies at a modest price. I found the size printed on the packet was alittle small for that sized hook, e.g. size 16 hackle, more suited to a size 18 Partridge SLD hook
